National Security Internship

DHS logo FBI logo Challenge: The goal of the National Security Internship program was to create a direct career path for the U. S. Department of Homeland Security and FBI with some of America's best and brightest students who speak or are studying Arabic as well as Intelligence, National Security and Area Studies in college. The scope of this program was to build a national security workforce of individuals who possess a higher degree of cultural competency who can cross pollinate a variety of DHS and FBI positions.

Solution: EdVenture Partners, in collaboration with The George Washington University, created an intensive nine-week, full immersion summer program for qualified undergraduate and graduate candidates from throughout the U.S. that combines Arabic language, National Security Seminars focused on terrorism that were presented by leading subject matter experts, as well as an On-the-Job-Training experience at DHS or FBI headquarters. Participating students receive top-secret clearance, an all-expense paid summer in D.C., including transportation to Washington, D. C. and room and board at The George Washington University. Completion of the internship resulted in transferable college credits for summer coursework in Arabic language & Homeland Security studies, preferred access to employment with DHS or FBI after graduation and a National Security Clearance.
